Head of Economics, Research and Statistic
Job Role Purpose:
Provide leadership and strategic thinking to meet the statutory objectives of GMCo and the fulfilment of its core mandates.
Key Accountabilities & Activities:
- Reporting and Research
- Sets the strategic direction of the Economic Research and Statistics unit and leads the team.
- Leads the preparation of business plans and ensure their implementation.
- Leads the preparation of periodic reports and forecasts (propose contents; allocate and coordinate tasks among staff; review and edit staff's contributions; follow up and ensure NCBs comments properly incorporated etc.)
- Prepares and/or contributes to research and working papers.
- Knowledge transfer / workshops
- Leads the preparation and holding of the annual GMCo workshops (propose workshop program and other details; contact and ensure contributors' participation; liaise with hosts to ensure successful logistics etc.)
- Communication
- Leads the preparation and drafting of working papers (prepare draft, circulate among staff members and submit to President for possible onward transmission to NCBs; finalize draft thereafter)
- Operation / Support management
- Promote, participate and oversee operational work with NCBs.

- Financial: Successful, timely completion of Annual Reports; workshops successfully held; working papers well received
- Non-Financial: Leadership role throughout GMCo; strategic thinking to ensure core objectives are met

Qualifications & Requirements:
Knowledge
Excellent command of all central-bank related issues and macroeconomic analysis; familiarity with quantitative methods; perfect command of written and spoken English.
Education: PhD in Economics or related field.
Experience:
At least 15 years of experience in an international financial organization or in a public sector institution (central banks, ministry, etc.) or in the private sector (commercial banks; regulatory/supervisory entity or similar organizations).
Job related Skills:
Strategic thinker: ability to provide leadership to GMCo; excellent interaction with team members and staff from other units. Industry
